October's update is one of our biggest yet. You can now build your own reports, set leave in hours, and find your way around more easily. Getting started is simpler too, for both companies and employees.
Here's what's new.
Reports, rebuilt
Reports now has two parts on one page: overviews (the old reports) for each area of the app, and a new Report Builder for creating your own.
Build a report conversationally. Sounds odd at first but, your reports now read as a sentence when building them. You can click on a data source, operator, column etc to easily update the report. For example: “Show me Employees where Status is Active, grouped by Department, showing the average pay.” Results on the right update in real-time as you go.
Or just ask a question. Pick from our ready made questions like “Whose probation ends soon?”, “Who’s off in the next 2 weeks?” or “Whose training is overdue?”. Each one opens a finished report you can then customise however you wish.
A few more things worth knowing:
Data sources: You can base the reports on Employees, Salary history, Leave requests, Leave balances, Expenses, Assets, Incidents, Praise, Training & compliance and Document acknowledgements
Reports that stay current: filters like “in the next 30 days” update themselves, so saved reports never go stale
Save and share: keep a report to yourself or share it with your company. Pin favourites to the top
Export: download as CSV, Excel or PDF if you need to
Safe to share: everyone only sees the data they’re allowed to. If someone can’t see salaries, salary columns are simply left out for them
Leave in hours, not just days
You can now set leave allowances in hours as well as days. This makes life much easier for part time staff and anyone on flexible or irregular hours, where a “day” doesn’t always mean the same thing.
You can choose what works for each employee, so teams with a mix of working patterns are all covered.
If you're already with us this can be changed in the Settings > Leave Settings > Allowance section or search for "Allowance Unit" on the settings page.
For new users we will ask you this during the onboarding flow to ensure you start off on the right foot.
A fresher look
We’ve refreshed the design and tidied up a few layouts. Nothing has moved far, but things are clearer and easier to find, so you can get in, get the job done and get on with your day.
